What am I?

This morning I had an appointment with the nurse at the GP's surgery for my 6 monthly blood pressure check.

As always, my height was checked.  I think I've stopped growing, vertically at least, and I hope I don't shrink or you'll not see me!  Also the nurse checked my weight - I'd rather not but it is necessary.  And again, the usual questions about habits and lifestyle - exercise and food and drink intake.

It is reassuring to know that the numbers shown on the monitor that measures the blood pressure are not taken in isolation, that I'm more than a few digits on a screen.  It is also important to take into account that our background, medical history and things we do and how we live do make a difference.  What we sow, we reap?  I am not just a whole load of random facts and figures, chemical elements that can be reproduced in a test tube but I am an accumulation of experiences that are interwoven into a tapestry that make me ME, individual and unique.

And my blood pressure was fine.
